The Gilded Wild started as a large wall candleholder I refused to hang on a wall.
◆ The Breakdown: I cut apart the heavy scrollwork and began rebuilding it into a completely new silhouette.
◆ The Near-Miss: The composition wouldn't cooperate — it came dangerously close to the scrap pile.
◆ The Transformation: I welded on a heavy raw-steel base plate, and everything clicked.
Suddenly, those wild vine-like curves had an anchor, transforming a flat wall hanging into a 30-pound freestanding sculpture with sweeping acanthus leaves and a golden bloom that catches the light from every angle.
Same metal. Rescued from the scrap bin. Made permanent.
