I angled and welded them together, then anchored the composition to a solid industrial base.\u003cbr\u003e◆ \u003cstrong\u003eThe Detail:\u003c\/strong\u003e I cut apart a vintage cast-iron candleholder and used sections of its decorative metalwork to frame the glass.\u003cbr\u003e◆ \u003cstrong\u003eThe Glass:\u003c\/strong\u003e The colorful flowers were made by me in the hot shop at the Mesa Arts Center, then incorporated directly into the steel structure.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe contrast is what makes this piece: \u003cstrong\u003erough, geometric metal surrounding smooth, colorful glass.\u003c\/strong\u003e When natural light catches the glass, the colors really come alive.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eScrap-bin steel.
